Lavender & Berries (December-March/April)      
Travel to Hillwood Berry Farm north of Launceston  to pick own strawberries. Then drive on to Yondover Goats Cheese Farm to taste and explore. Drive to Lavender Farm for 1 ½ hour stop. Wander through the Lavender, take tour of distillery (if operating), visit the shop for all things lavender and purple, try out lavender scones at the café. An (optional) extra is to drive back via the Jansz vineyard for a sample of sparkling wine and lunch at Pipers Brook Vineyard.  Drive back via Batman Bridge and west side of the Tamar River.

North West Wonders Tour
We will have morning tea at the Raspberry Farm, then move on to Ashgrove Cheese Factory to taste many different varieties of award winning cheeses. Drive to Anvers Chocolate Factory for a tasting of beautiful Belgian chocolate. Walk around the lovely old town of Latrobe with its old verandahs, visit the amazing Reliquaire for all things eclectic. Visit the Cherry Shed to taste huge sweet cherries (seasonal). Drive through Deloraine and visit the world class Yarns Exhibition of quilting in four panels on walls, depicting life in Deloraine made by 300 people.

Mole Creek Tasting Tour
Drive to Deloraine through picturesque country towns. Then drive to a farming area known as Montana to visit the 41 Degree Salmon and Ginseng Farm for a taste of smoked salmon and ginseng powder.  Also in this area is the smallgoods shop called Tasmania Pure where you can taste and buy hams, baked meats, pates etc. Over the road is Three Willows vineyard where hand made organic wines (pinot noir, pinot gris and the rare french baco noir are made in the traditional way. Also in the area is Truffles Australis, the home of the black truffle.  The Honey Farm is at Chudleigh for a great tasting of many different honeys.

Heritage Highway Tour
From Launceston pass through Perth, sample honey at Australian Honey Company, drive past homes of interest in Perth. Drive to Campbelltown, a midlands country town to explore shops and architecture. View bricks in pathway with names of convicts, their families, which ship they arrived on. Drive to Ross, walk around town. If the Cherry season is on we will visit ‘Somercotes’ a beautiful 1823 property out of Ross. Continue to Oatlands, a fantastic colonial town, walk in to Callington Mill and buy bread made from the flour milled there. Drive to yet another colonial town, Richmond, to look at the architecture and shops or visit Mulberry Cottage for a terrific one woman play about life in the 1840’s-50’s (optional).

Heritage Homes and Gardens of the Northern Midlands
We will visit Entally House and garden, pioneer family home of the Reibey’s (Mary Reibey is depicted on our $20 note). Woolmers and National Rose Garden, World Heritage site and family home of the pioneers, the Archers. Drive to Evandale to visit Clarendon Homestead which was the family home of pioneer James Cox. Have lunch at a Mill near Longford (optional).

Tamar River Fun
From Launceston drive to Grindelwald, Brady’s Lookout, Platypus House, Seahorse World and the famous Gold Mine at Beaconsfield.  If time, go to Low Head Lighthouse, visit a vineyard on the way back to taste wines (optional).
